An unexpected floating kiss gives Chagall's The Birthday its joyful, intimate character. Two figures lean towards one another in a colourful room, where red flooring, flowers and patterned furnishings make an ordinary interior feel full of possibility. The scene balances familiar domestic details with a gently dreamlike sense of movement.
This print brings a personal, romantic focal point to a bedroom, living room or wall of meaningful art. Rich reds can connect it with warm textiles and wood furniture, while the smaller details reward time spent looking. For someone who loves expressive painting and everyday moments made extraordinary, it is a thoughtful way to celebrate affection at home.
