A woman and an armoured figure meet in a wooded setting in Waterhouse's Lamia. Patterned fabric, reflective armour and rich greenery give the scene a detailed, romantic atmosphere, with the close arrangement of the figures drawing attention to their encounter. Warm skin tones sit against the cooler woodland background.
This print suits a library, study or bedroom that welcomes narrative painting and richly layered colour. It pairs naturally with warm wood, deep green accents and other classic art. Delicate fabric and heavy armour offer details to return to, while the sheltered setting gives the meeting a storybook sense of intimacy.
