Rich textiles, patterned surfaces and tall flowers surround a seated woman in this colourful Waterhouse interior. Warm orange fabric draws the eye to the figure, while blue details and layered decoration make the surrounding room feel full of discoveries. The composition has an enclosed, absorbing atmosphere that encourages you to look beyond the first impression.
It is a beautiful choice for a reading room or eclectic living space that welcomes decorative detail. Echo just one of its colours in nearby textiles, and let simpler furniture give the painting's patterns the space they deserve.
